– Data from PawaTech’s operations will now feed into IBIA’s global alert and monitoring system

PawaTech, a sportsbook technology provider in Africa and the platform behind the BetPawa brand, has officially joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).

The move marks a commitment to responsible gambling, anti-corruption and the protection of regulated sports betting markets.

Operating across 17 African countries, PawaTech’s integration into the IBIA network will see its sportsbook trading data contribute to the global body’s monitoring and alert system.

This system tracks over $300bn in annual betting turnover across 140+ brands and is regarded as one of the most effective tools in the fight against betting-related match-fixing.

Commenting on the development, Juri Sidorenko, CEO of PawaTech, stated: “Joining IBIA reflects our commitment to fair play, integrity and safer betting. We are proud to support a trusted ecosystem that makes betting more secure, transparent and player-friendly across Africa.”

Good to know: IBIA’s monitoring has proven effective, with 99.96% of events between 2017 and 2023 showing no signs of manipulation

Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, added: “We are thrilled to welcome pawaTech to IBIA. The company’s unique African operational footprint and technology infrastructure bring valuable regional market knowledge and monitoring coverage to our association.

“This partnership further strengthens our global network and supports our shared goal of protecting the integrity of sport and regulated betting markets.”

Recent IBIA reporting demonstrates the organisation’s ongoing efforts in maintaining betting integrity. The association’s Q1 2025 report documented 63 suspicious betting alerts submitted to authorities, representing an 11% increase from the previous year.

Alerts such as these contributed to investigations that resulted in the successful sanctioning of 17 clubs, players and officials in 2024.

The membership expansion continues IBIA’s growth trajectory, following recent additions including Oddsgate and CopyBet.
