Scientific Games to continue supplying Polish lottery… with 20 the magic number

Key points:

– Scientific Games will continue supplying instant scratchcard games to the Polish monopoly

– The extended agreement continues a partnership of more than 20 years

– Scratchcard sales up by 20% over past three years

Scientific Games has shaken hands on a new agreement with Polish state-owned operator Totalizator Sportowy.

Polish National Lottery players will continue to have access to Scientific Games’ library of instant scratchcard games after a new deal was struck between the two.

Scientific Games is a ubiquitous name in state lotteries around Europe, supplying products to more than 50 countries in the continent and 110 worldwide.

In Poland, this long-standing arrangement between the provider and lottery monopoly has been in place for more than 20 years – last year, Totalizator Sportowy celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Clearly delineating the success of this relationship are the growth figures from the past three years, with scratchcard game sales shooting up by 20% over the period.

Paul Dures, Lottery Sales Director EMEA for Scientific Games, said: “We look forward to continuing our work to drive meaningful growth for the scratchcard games in Poland creating more innovative and attractive games for players.”

Good to know: Scientific Games has a global reach and is expanding even further afield with the recent receipt of a supplier licence in the UAE to support local lottery operations

With the announcement of the partnership extension, no doubt more new games will be on the horizon – most recently Totalizator Sportowy was able to bring players the new PLN30 GIGA 7 game, produced with Scientific Games’ holographic Dimension technology.

Katarzyna Woznica-Borkowska, Manager of Instant Products at Totalizator Sportowy, said: “We are delighted to continue working with Scientific Games to offer fun, modern scratch experiences.”

Scientific Games also recently announced how it plans to capitalise on a licensing deal with Hasbro – the company will be collaborating with London-based games developers Pixiu Gaming to develop lottery games based on Monopoly and Battleship.
