Gordon Moody, the charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by severe gambling-related harm, has welcomed MP Alex Ballinger to its flagship residential facility in Redditch, Gordon Moody House.

He will work closely with the organisation to support its mission and outreach efforts.

Gordon Moody outlined to Ballinger how its services support some of the country’s most complex and high-risk cases of gambling-related harm.

The meeting also addressed the importance of integrating such treatment into NHS referral pathways to ensure individuals receive appropriate support in a timely and accessible manner.

Alex Ballinger, MP for Halesowen, is a former Royal Marine and aid worker in Middle East conflict zones. He later led the mental health charity St Germain’s Wellbeing, supporting communities in Birmingham and the Black Country.

Good to know: Gordon Moody has recently been named as the official charity partner for Redditch United for the upcoming 2025/26 season

The charity expressed on LinkedIn: “Thank you, Alex Ballinger, for your interest in our work and your commitment to improving access to treatment.”

In May, the organisation appointed Clarke Carlisle as its new business development manager.

Carlisle, a former professional footballer who played for clubs including Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers, among others, is seeking to expand Gordon Moody’s offering, including the development of private residential and international services and adapt to significant changes in funding structures.
