– The ‘Piazza Project’ represents another step in Regency Casino Thessaloniki’s attempts to make the city a noted European gambling destination

A three-day launch event has taken place in Thessaloniki for the ‘Piazza Project’, a brand new venue that makes the most of partnership deals with Aristocrat Gaming, IGT and Light and Wonder.

The new venture from Regency Casino Thessaloniki is an open-air complex boasting a wide selection of gaming technology from those three leading suppliers.

Over 12,000 people attended the launch event which included dinners, VIP events and live performances.

These guests will have been able to see and use for the first time the four slot pavilions and 216 machines that the ‘Piazza Project’ offers, while also taking advantage of food pop-ups and other integrated entertainment draws.

Yiannis Tsirikos, CEO of Regency Entertainment, said: “The Piazza Project represents a significant investment that brings together Aristocrat Gaming, IGT, and Light & Wonder for the first time in a single European venue. We’re not just expanding our facilities – we’re creating a year-round entertainment hub that will attract visitors from across the region and establish Greece as a leader in the European leisure and gaming market.”

Good to know: There has been movement between the three slot manufacturers that feature in the new casino with Dylan Slaney leaving Light & Wonder recently to become Aristocrat Interactive CEO

The year-round space is designed to be a uniquely designed and managed gaming and leisure attraction in Europe – in the centre of the venue is a ‘grand stage’ that will regularly host DJ sets, live music and comedy.

Next to the stage is a 10-metre long bar, and punters travelling from further afield will be able to fly in and out of the nearby Thessaloniki Airport.
