Crown Perth partners with Foodbank WA to provide hot meals through winter months
Currently, Crown Perth is producing 170 litres of soup per week distributed across 890 households daily.
Key points:
– Crown Perth has announced a new collaborative CSR initiative with Foodbank Western Australia
– The operator will undertake various fundraising, donation and volunteering activities as part of the partnership
Crown Perth has entered a new collaboration with Foodbank Western Australia (WA) which has seen Foodbank CEO, Kate O’Hara, join the Crown kitchen team to help prepare food batches for the week for distribution across Western Australia.
This partnership comes as Australia enters its colder winter months, in which some isolated communities across the nation’s largest state requiring help to tackle food stress may access the six Foodbank WA locations located across the Western Australia region. Indeed, the initiative sees Crown Perth support Foodbank WA through fundraising initiatives, volunteering and donations.
Commenting on the collaboration, Crown Perth CEO, Brian Pereira, said: “We’re honoured to support the work of Foodbank WA and contribute in a tangible and meaningful way. It is a great source of pride for our team members to be involved in something that gives back to the community, too.”
Also commenting was Foodbank WA CEO, Kate O’Hara, who stated: “By reducing the cost of food, and not just any food – nutritious food, quality food that anyone would be grateful to be eating, we’re actually helping people stay in their homes. It means they are able to pay their rent, or their mortgage and not become homeless.”
Good to know: Last week, Crown Perth announced an executive reshuffle which saw Brain Pereira appointed as CEO of the casino resort location
Elsewhere, in March, Crown Resorts CEO David Tsai spoke at Regulating the Game Sydney 2025 about the company’s new responsible gaming and AML measures
Indeed, Tsai was originally appointed as CEO of Crown Perth, himself, in 2022 – before moving on to take over the top job at the company in November. Since his Sydney address in March, Crown Perth has also entered into additional partnerships with two Western Australian AFL teams.
