Robert Ziems

CEO
Gaming Arts

Robert Ziems is the CEO of Gaming Arts, where he will lead the company’s innovation in casino gaming technology, enhance customer engagement, and drive key expansion strategies. He has held various legal roles in the industry prior to this.

Major Achievements

During his time at Aruze, Ziems oversaw business development, procurement and operating efficiencies throughout the Americas. He served the company as a leader in the areas of regulatory compliance, international legal affairs and global human resources.

AGS and Caesars recently signed a new partnership, building on past collaborations. The two have expanded their existing partnership to include a new online game content agreement with Caesars Sportsbook & Casino.

Per the terms of the latest deal, the company will provide Caesars with its suite of online gaming content as a boost to the group’s online real-money gaming (RMG) operations.

The provider said its recent agreement with Caesars “continues to cement AGS’ position as a leading provider of slot content to regulated real-money gaming operators across the globe.”

Employment

Throughout his lengthy career, Ziems has handled legal and regulatory matters around the world and has served gaming corporations as in-house counsel.

His first introduction to the industry was in 1999 when he was brought on as Associate General Counsel to Station Casinos.

He would later hold the same position at Aristocrat Technologies 2002 and 2004. During his time here, Ziems supervised outside counsel on all matters and handled due diligence on M&As. This included multi-million distributor acquisition deals, while simultaneously resolving contractual and IP disputes in LatAm resulting in savings of millions in potential penalties while generating millions in product placement revenue.

Ziems later went on to serve Progress Gaming International Corporation (PGIC) between 2004 and 2009, which was formerly known as Mikohn Gaming, as its Executive VP, General Counsel and as Corporate Secretary. During his time there, Ziems oversaw the company’s corporate activities while managing its legal, human resource, compliance and internal audit departments. He generated $8m in patent licensing within his first nine months, then $20m in licensing revenue within two years.

Following his tenure there, Ziems would step back into the world of law firms. He would launch his own law firm, which specialised in IP licensing, identifying global business opportunities and negotiating contracts.

In 2011, Ziems would rejoin the gaming world with his SVP of Business Development appointment at Aruze Gaming. He would soon become EVP of General Counsel in 2012, during which time he secured new licences, reduced facility costs by 30% and implemented new employee benefits and 401(k) plans to boost morale.

Ziems would be promoted to Global Chief Legal Officer in 2015, be appointed to Corporate Secretary Board of Directors in 2017 and finally be made President in 2018 – as well as the previous two roles at the same time.

In 2023, he would move on to be Chief Legal Officer at PlayAGS, before moving up to Chief Business and Legal Officer in November 2024.

In July 2025, Ziems announced he had been made CEO of Gaming Arts in Las Vegas.
