MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Schoen’s career in the global luxury hospitality industry spans more than three decades. Throughout his tenure, he has functioned as a key leader for six hotel brands in 12 countries.
Prior to joining Wynn Resorts, Schoen oversaw construction and renovations at Pine Cliffs Resort, where he served as the destination’s Complex General Manager.
As President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, Schoen will oversee all the location’s operational aspects.
Shoen commented on assuming his latest role as Wynn Al Marjan Island’s President by saying: "I am delighted to lead the operations of Wynn Al Marjan Island and feel privileged to be part of such a significant new chapter for the group.
“The iconic destination will not only mark a new one-of-a-kind guest experience in the Emirates but will further establish the brand across the globe.”
EMPLOYMENT
Schoen has served in various leadership roles for notable hotel brands. He held the role of CEO of UIP Hospitality at Marriott International from May 2016 to May 2023.
Schoen reflected on his time with Marriott International and said in a recent social media post: “This has been an incredible journey for seven years supporting the opening of the Hyatt Regency, Yotel Porto, renovation of the Sheraton Cascais and managing the never-ending evolution of Pine Cliffs Resort.
“It has been an absolute pleasure and a rewarding adventure to be part of incredible teams throughout the organization. I will cherish many unforgettable moments and highly value my learnings. Servicing our guests, real estate owners and members has been a priority for all of us.”
Prior to his time with Pine Cliffs Resort, Schoen worked for Starwood Hotel & Resorts as both Area Manager Egypt and Area Manager Poland.
PRODUCTS LAUNCHED
Wynn Resorts said the design for Wynn Al Marjan Island was inspired by the “tranquil seascape” of Wynn Al Marjan Island. Wynn partnered with Marjan LLC and RAK Hospitality Holding LLC for the project.
Wynn Al Marjan Island is Wynn’s first beachfront resort. The company’s design renderings of the resort are reminiscent of the Arabian Gulf. Wynn kicked off foundational construction at the site in early 2023.
