MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Throughout his career, Mirzaee has demonstrated his entrepreneurial prowess by founding and successfully scaling multiple ventures in the e-commerce and tech sectors.

His tenure at Google, where he held key positions in global business development, also underscored his ability to drive growth and forge partnerships in highly competitive markets.

Now at Bayes Esports, it was recently announced that Mirzaee has been appointed as the company’s Co-CEO – a role that he will hold alongside his position as the company’s Managing Director.

EMPLOYMENT

Mirzaee’s entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of MyPokerShop in the tech hub of Hamburg, Germany, where he served as Founder and Head of Product and Marketing in January 2005. This venture marked his foray into the e-commerce realm, laying the groundwork for his future endeavours.

Building upon this foundation, Mirzaee co-founded Private Trips GmbH, an e-commerce platform specialising in travel, where he once again assumed the dual role of Founder and Head of Product and Marketing. Under his stewardship, Private Trips GmbH was ultimately acquired by Brands4friends.de.

Mirzaee’s career trajectory took a turn when he transitioned to corporate roles, leveraging his entrepreneurial insights to drive business development and forge strategic partnerships.

The first significant step of this journey saw Mirzaee joining Google in March 2011. He initially joined the company as the DACH Lead, specialising in the areas of commerce, shopping and advertisement partnerships.

Following three years in this role, Mirzaee continued to work for Google in the Waze Global Business Development team – a small, cross-functional team that led all the start-up’s business and partnerships from concept to scale.

Following his tenure at Google, Mirzaee assumed the role of Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Plug and Play Tech Center, where he played a pivotal role in nurturing the startup ecosystem from March 2017 to December 2017.

Mirzaee’s next move saw him delving into venture capital and tech consulting. Initially, this involved him serving as the Head of Family Office for Eisbaer Capital. He held this role from December 2017 to April 2020. During this time, he was involved in investing in a number of different startups.

Shortly after this, Mirzaee joined Bayes Esports, initially starting out as the company’s COO in July 2020. In June 2021, Mirzaee took on an additional role as the company’s Managing Director. Finally, in April 2024, it was announced that Mirzaee had been appointed as Bayes Esports’ Co-CEO alongside Martin Dachselt.

Regarding this appointment, Mirzaee commented: “Bayes Esports has cemented its position at the centre of the esports ecosystem, and this shift reflects our continued growth.

“Together with Martin, we will foster innovation and integrity within the esports industry, while forging partnerships with the very best in the industry.”

Interviews and public speeches

Mirzaee also spoke with Gambling Insider on the Huddle last year where he discussed the esports betting market – revealing the reasons he believes some of gaming’s biggest firms are not currently maximising their esports potential.
