MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Khin has been recognised for his significant contributions to the gaming industry, particularly his role in the merger between GTECH and International Game Technology. This merger, which he helped orchestrate in 2014/2015, remains the largest M&A transaction in the gaming supplier industry and was an integral component in the creation of IGT as it exists today.
EMPLOYMENT
Khin's career began in the finance sector, where he held senior positions at AT&T and NCR Corporation in both Europe and the United States. These roles allowed him to develop a deep understanding of financial management and corporate strategy, skills that would later prove invaluable assets in his gaming industry career.
In 2002, Khin transitioned to the gaming industry when he joined Aristocrat Leisure Limited. He initially took on the role of Managing Director and GM for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) division, based in London. In this capacity, Khin was responsible for overseeing operations across a vast and diverse region, driving significant growth and profitability for the company. His success in this role led to his promotion within Aristocrat.
In 2008, Khin was appointed President and CEO of Aristocrat’s American business, headquartered in Las Vegas. This division represented the largest revenue and profit-generating entity within the company. Under his leadership, Aristocrat solidified its position as a leading player in the American gaming market, with Khin spearheading initiatives that enhanced product offerings and expanded market reach.
During this period, Khin also served on the Board of Directors for several industry-related organisations, including Interblock (Elektroncek BV), Ace Interactive and the American Gaming Association.
Khin’s tenure at Aristocrat came to an end in 2012, marking the beginning of his significant contributions at IGT. He joined IGT in 2013 as SVP and Head of Corporate Strategy / M&A.
In this role, Khin was a key architect of the 2014/2015 merger between GTECH and International Game Technology.
This merger resulted in the creation of the modern-day IGT. Khin’s strategic leadership during this period was instrumental, as he helped the company navigate the complexities of the merger, positioning the new entity for long-term success.
Following the successful merger, Khin was promoted to COO of IGT’s Global Games Unit in April 2015. In this capacity, he managed the day-to-day operations of IGT’s gaming business, including overseeing corporate strategy, product development and global market expansion. His leadership was crucial in maintaining IGT’s strong position in the industry, as he guided the company through significant growth phases and product innovations.
In August 2024, Khin was appointed President of Global Gaming at IGT, where he now oversees all aspects of the subsidiary’s business, including studios, technology, sales, games and hardware, manufacturing and services and systems. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the industry have positioned him as a key leader at IGT, driving the company’s success in a highly competitive market.
In his current role as President of Global Gaming, Khin continues to lead IGT’s efforts to remain at the forefront of the gaming industry. His appointment comes at a critical time, as IGT recently announced its support for a $4.05bn cash offer by private equity fund Apollo Global to acquire its Global Games business.
This move is set to merge IGT’s Global Games unit with Everi Holdings, creating a new powerhouse in the gaming industry. Khin’s leadership will be vital in navigating this transition.
