EMPLOYMENT
In 1994, Evans completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Kingston University in the United Kingdom.
Evans then began his professional journey, where he built a foundation in marketing and consumer-focused business strategy. Alongside various roles at News International between 1994 to 1999, his early career included a role as the Communications Manager of Premium TV before he advanced to become the Director of Marketing at UK bookmaker Paddy Power, beginning in 2001.
In 2011, Evans transitioned to Sportsbet where he first served as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer. His arrival coincided with a transformative period for the company, which had been acquired by Paddy Power in 2010. Evans played an important role in establishing Sportsbet's marketing approach during this integration phase.
Following this, Evans was appointed as Sportsbet’s Chief Commercial Officer in October 2016 – an appointment that came during another significant corporate transition, as Paddy Power had merged with Betfair to form Paddy Power Betfair (later renamed Flutter Entertainment) in 2016.
Finally, in March 2018, Evans was appointed as the new CEO of Sportsbet. Under his leadership, the company has experienced growth, achieving a compound annual growth rate exceeding 20%. Evans has guided Sportsbet through this period while navigating increasing regulatory challenges in the Australian market and intensified competition.
