Dame Donna Langley is a diversely experienced executive who has worked across a variety of media industry sectors including film, entertainment and gaming. She is currently a Board Member at MGM Resorts International – a role which she stepped into in March 2025.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Throughout her career, Langley helped guide NBCUniversal through major programming decisions, whilst also spearheading the company’s creative strategy. Under her leadership, NBCUniversal produced numerous globally recognised film and television projects. 

In addition to her professional achievements, Langley has been recognised for her contributions to the entertainment industry and her efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in media. Further, Langley is known for her visionary leadership style which draws focus on both creative and business operations. 

AWARDS

In 2020, Langley was awarded Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) for services to film and entertainment. She has also been featured as one of Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 honourees and named among Variety’s Women of Impact. Her dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion in media has earned her recognition across the industry. 

EMPLOYMENT

Prior to joining MGM Resorts, Langley held her role as Chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios, a position she has occupied since 2019. In this role, she drove key content initiatives while expanding NBCUniversal’s global reach. She guided the company’s creative and business operations, including major content distribution strategies for platforms like Peacock. 

Langley also previously served as Chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, where she oversaw some of the biggest box office successes in recent years. Her leadership contributed to the studio's record-breaking performance with franchises such as Jurassic World, Fast & Furious, and Despicable Me

In addition to her career in entertainment, Langley is an advocate for mental health initiatives and social causes. Her commitment to supporting community programs aligns with MGM Resorts' recent partnerships, including a 2024 collaboration with Kindbridge to support gambling addiction research and treatment for veterans. MGM Resorts donated $100,000 to fund a voluntary medication trial for veterans in Las Vegas which reinforces Langley's alignment with MGM Resorts' social responsibility efforts.

Her appointment aligns with MGM Resorts’ mission to focus on expanding content creation, entertainment production, and proprietary programming for its gaming and hospitality portfolio. Langley’s experience is seen as crucial in guiding these initiatives.
