Massachusetts reports $98.6m in casino revenue for July

The state generated $29.4m in revenue from sports betting.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has filed its financial report for July and revealed its three casinos - Plainridge Park Casino (PPC), MGM Springfield (MGM) and Encore Boston Harbor (EBH) generated a total of $98.6m in revenue.

The state also saw $29.4m in revenue from sports betting. This amount was accumulated across eight online sports betting licensees and three brick-and-mortar licensees.

Alongside collecting $29.4m in revenue from sports betting, the state also collected a total of $294.9m in bets.

Casino wagering saw Encore Boston Harbor in the lead, bringing in total revenue of $61.3m. Breaking down this sum, the casino brought in $26.5m from table games and $34.8m from slots.

Meanwhile, MGM Springfield made a total revenue of $23.5m, which is comprised of $4.8m from table games and $18.8m in revenue from slots. 

Plainridge Park Casino didn’t generate any revenue from table games but did garner a total of $13.9m from slots alone. 

FanDuel claimed $9.9m in taxable gaming revenue from $86.2m wagered, while BetMGM posted $2.5m in revenue from $22.5m in handle.

However, DraftKings reigned supreme, generating $14.4m in revenue – the most out of all operators in the state – while recording $144.9m in handle.

Furthermore, the new micro-betting app, Betr, generated the smallest amount of handle with $155,581 and made $10,983 in revenue. After Betr, the operator that generated the second least amount overall was Fanatics, which made $2.4m in handle and $221,478 in revenue. 

In total, the Massachusetts operators generated a handle of $288.1m – and off that, it made a total revenue of $28.8m
