Mohegan Inspire, the latest development from the Mohegan brand located in Incheon, South Korea, has appointed Chen Si as its President and Wade Howk as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Owned by the Mohegan Tribe, the Mohegan Resorts company has venues across the US, including the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and Mohegan Pennsylvania.

Mohegan first announced Project Inspire in February 2016, when it was selected by the South Korean Government to build the resort at the Incheon International Airport in South Korea.

The $5bn resort is anticipated to open before 2024 and will feature a hotel, shopping district, convention centre and casino.

Ray Pineault, Mohegan President and CEO, said: "Mohegan's move into the global market is not just about growth, but also about sharing our legacy and spirit with the world.

“Our future is bright, and I look forward to embracing this next chapter alongside Chen Si and Wade Howk."

Si has held the position of EVP, Head of Casino & Hotel at Macau Legend Development, as well as working for Sands China and Las Vegas Sands.

On the appointment, Si said: "I am honored to be stepping into this role as President of Mohegan Inspire.

“As we begin this next venture for the Mohegan brand in South Korea, I am motivated by the promise of innovation, rich cultural exchange and strengthened partnerships.

“This is an exhilarating new chapter for the brand, and I'm committed to steering Mohegan toward a future filled with inspiration and growth."

Prior to his position at Mohegan Inspire, Howk was CFO for Hard Rock Cincinnati and Corporate VP of Strategy at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.

On their appointment, Howk said: "Mohegan Inspire has always stood for innovation, passion and resilience.

"I am excited to bring these values to new heights in my new role, ensuring that the brand remains synonymous with the excellence and visionary leadership that our guests have come to know and expect at our properties across the globe."

Also ahead of the official launch of the casino, Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort signed a systems agreement with Light & Wonder.
