Kambi was chosen to provide Svenska Spel Sport & Casino with an online and retail sportsbook. The collaboration is anticipated to yield financial impacts commencing in H2 2024.

As part of Kambi's modularisation approach, this partnership will also involve Kambi subsidiary Shape Games, which was acquired by Kambi in September 2022 for €38.5m ($40m). Shape Games will be responsible for furnishing the front-end technology for Svenska Spel Sport & Casino's new sportsbook.

Throughout 2023, Shape Games has been active in establishing partnerships, including agreements with Jack Entertainment, Wagr and Betsson Group in Canada.

Svenska Spel is a state-owned gambling entity operating within Sweden, delivering its services through both online platforms and a network of 5,000 retail outlets.

CEO of Kambi, Kristian Nylén, expressed his satisfaction at being chosen as Svenska Spel Sport & Casino's long-term sportsbook provider, stating: “Svenska Spel is widely recognised as one of Sweden’s most prestigious brands and given Kambi’s strong Swedish roots, I am proud that we have been selected as the operator’s long-term sportsbook provider.

"As we continue to build commercial momentum and execute our long-term strategy, this partnership is a significant milestone for the business and will enable Kambi to further strengthen its position in one of our core markets.”

Svenska Spel Sport & Casino has expanded with a 2% rise in revenue and an 8% uptick in its online business during Q1 2023.

Svenska Spel Sport & Casino had entered into a series of partnerships and initiatives aimed at securing its position in the Swedish gaming market. One collaboration was a partnership with Playtech to enhance its poker offerings for the Swedish market.

Furthermore, Svenska Spel extended its existing partnership with IGT to continue leveraging the supplier's lottery technology and services.
