Betsson is celebrating its 60th anniversary in the gaming industry and has transitioned from being the ‘Grand Sponsor’ to the ‘Naming Sponsor’ of AEK BC.
This strategic move means the team will now be known as AEK Betsson BC.
The unveiling of this partnership took place at The Mall Athens on October 12, where both Betsson and AEK Betssonn BC shared the news.
The event began with a tribute video highlighting key moments of their partnership, including their joint contribution of €100,000 ($105,207) to earthquake victims in Turkey.
Makis Angelopoulos, President of AEK Betsson BC, said of the deal: "This partnership marks an exciting chapter in our history, combining our strengths to achieve great success together.
"We are deeply appreciative of the help and unwavering support we’ve consistently received from Betsson. It is through such active partnerships that we can excel in our game and continue to make history."
As part of the company’s development, Betsson recently entered the French market through a partnership with local firms.
Betsson has also extended its partnership with Pragmatic Play, providing live casino content to the Swedish operator.
Betsson's financial results for Q2 2023 exhibit a 27% rise in revenue, reaching €236.8m. While the number of active customers fluctuates, Betsson has seen a 29% increase in revenue in H1 2023 compared to H1 2022.
