Light & Wonder has partnered with open banking payments company Trustly to deliver cashless in-person deposits on casino floors via Light & Wonder’s Rapidplay.
The partnership will see Rapidplay leverage Trustly’s online sports betting and iGaming payments experience to bring a cashless experience to land-based casinos. It is anticipated that Trustly’s solution will require no payment card, player card, sign-up or app download, with the Trustly ID feature ensuring an AML and KYC-compliant process in only a few seconds.
This is not Light & Wonder’s first brush with cashless solutions, with the operator being approved for a cashless gaming trial by New South Wales (NSW), Australia, in October alongside IGT and Aristocrat. It is also not Trustly’s first partnership within the gaming industry, having worked with DraftKings, FanDuel and Station Casinos to name a few.
The company also merged with SlimPay in January.
On the partnership, Trustly VP of Gaming John Parsons said: “The introduction of Rapidplay, leveraging our In-Person Payments feature of Trustly Pay marks a pivotal innovation for direct funding of games from player bank accounts via personal devices. We are proud to collaborate with Light & Wonder to deliver quick and secure instant payments on the casino floor.”
Light & Wonder President of Global Systems Jon Wolfe added: “We’re proud to work with [Trustly] to power our cashless solution on casino floors. Cashless is the future of in-person gaming and we’re proud to pioneer the solutions that continue to drive innovation.”
