TonyBet joins KVA in the Netherlands

The operator has joined KVA in the lead-up to its launch in the Netherlands.

TonyBet has joined the Dutch affiliate quality marker Keurmerk Verantwoorde Affiliates (KVA).

KVA is the original Dutch branch of Quality Mark Responsible Affiliates (QMRA), which works with a range of operators both in and outside of the Netherlands. Some of these include Tombola, Jacks.nl, Unibet, bet365 and LeoVegas, among others.

Operators may require the quality mark before engaging with an affiliate and may also choose to collaborate with KVA’s legal team, who provide advice to compliance officers and affiliate managers. The KVA can also collect age demographic reports for companies which is mandatory for operators in the Netherlands.

With KVA, TonyBet is set to work on compliance in the lead-up to its launch in the nation, where it will also receive age demographics reports. The operator received its Dutch licence in November 2022.

XY Legal Solutions launched the QMRA quality mark across six markets in January following what it called the success of KVA the Netherlands, with territories including Spain, Germany and the UK. In late April QMRA approved three new sites as compliant with its initiative. These were Casino.dk, OnlinePoker.se and OnlineCasino.be.

In terms of regulatory news from the Netherlands, the KSA announced the release date for its amended Responsible Gaming Policy Rules, which is scheduled for 3 June 2024. However, certain articles are expected to be published later, with Article 3.1.12 and Article 3.1.13 being delayed until October.

The KSA also imposed a penalty against Casbit Group NV in April and a binding instruction on DigitalOcean, calling for the company to cease engagements with illegal affiliate sites.
