GamCare has announced the appointment of its new Director of Clinical Operations, with Tim Hodgetts taking up the role from August.
Hodgetts’ experience has been within the health and social care sector over the course of over 22 years, including working in senior leadership roles for the NHS, such as Deputy Director for Integrated Care Services with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.
As GamCare’s Director of Clinical Operations, Hodgett will work with the leadership team, being responsible for “strategic oversight and all operational management” of the charity’s clinical and support services, which includes the National Gambling Helpline.
GamCare Chair Margot Daly said: “I am delighted to welcome Tim, whose significant expertise, knowledge, and insights will be invaluable to the clinical leadership of the GamCare team. I look forward to making further senior appointments in due course.”
Hodgetts himself added: “I’m delighted to be joining GamCare and supporting the team to deliver its priorities. The opportunity to lead and support the organisation to continue delivering high-quality, personalised, support services, including the National Gambling Helpline – outstanding of its kind – that ensure the best possible outcomes for people experiencing gambling harm, is why I was attracted to the role.
“I’m excited to work closely with existing partners, the NHS, and government, and to establish new relationships to help shape the future of prevention, education, and treatment within the gambling harms space.”
Last month, GamCare made a call for increased workplace support for employees affected by gambling, after YouGov research revealed that only 9% of workplaces have support policies for gambling issues.
