Betano has continued its ‘Summer of Football’ by sponsoring a celebratory match marking the 20th anniversary of Greece's unexpected victory at UEFA Euro 2004.
The event featured a friendly game between the 2004 Greek National Team, named ‘Legends 2004,’ and the UEFA All Stars.
The match, held at Stadion Essen, showcased football icons such as Luís Figo, Sol Campbell, Claude Makélélé and Clarence Seedorf, as well as Greek football heroes like Thodoris Zagorakis and Angelos Charisteas.
The Legends 2004 took an early lead with Stelios Giannakopoulos scoring in the 15th minute. However, the UEFA All Stars secured a 2-1 victory with second-half goals from Figo and Luis Garcia.
The game paid tribute to Otto Rehhagel, the architect of Greece's 2004 triumph, who hails from Essen.
Commenting on the event, Kostas Galanopoulos, Sports Marketing Manager at Kaizen Gaming, stated: "There are few moments in modern football history as momentous as Greece's Euro 2004 triumph, and it is rightly celebrated until this day.
“We are proud to sponsor the match through Betano and Stoiximan and have such illustrious footballing icons wearing shirts bearing the two brands. This is a huge testament to our team's hard work and continued commitment at Kaizen Gaming."
This anniversary match is part of Betano's broader Summer of Football initiative, with the company also launching comprehensive 360° campaigns for both the Euros and Copa America 2024.
