Openbox Holdings has acquired Boldplay, a Gibraltar-based studio.

This acquisition marks a strategic move for Openbox, which plans to integrate Boldplay’s portfolio into its existing offerings, expanding the range of content available to operators across its platform.

The acquisition includes Boldplay’s games, such as Brute Force, Cam Carter and the Cursed Caves, Cyborg City and Speed Heist.

Openbox’s platform will begin offering these titles immediately and the company expects new content updates in the coming months.

Key members of Boldplay’s development team will join Openbox to ensure continuity in the creative direction of its game offerings.

In September 2024, Boldplay partnered with Rank Group, providing its games to Rank’s subsidiaries, Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo. This partnership allowed Boldplay to strengthen its presence in the UK, as its titles became available across Rank’s land-based and online platforms.

Good to know: Founded in 2019, Boldplay has established partnerships with several operators, including BetMGM, ApuestaTotal, Grosvenor Casinos and Sportingbet

Openbox CEO Richard Hogg said: “We’ve long admired the creativity and innovation coming out of Boldplay. Their approach to engaging players with rich content and rewarding mechanics is a great fit for our platform.”

Boldplay CEO Valli Fragoso added: “We are excited to join Openbox on this new journey. Our visions are closely aligned and together we will create memorable gaming experiences for players. We’re looking forward to building on the foundation we’ve established and expanding our reach to new audiences worldwide.”
