Key points:
- The three-year contract will see IGT supply instant ticket games to the French lottery operator
- The tickets will be designed with environmental responsibility in mind, using non-toxic inks and reduced emission practices
- IGT has supplied FDJ's lottery central system since 2000
IGT has expanded its partnership with La Française des Jeux (FDJ), with its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, signing a three-year contract with the French lottery operator to deliver instant ticket games. The contract follows a competitive procurement process.
As part of the deal, FDJ will have access to IGT’s full suite of instant games, including Infinity Instants. IGT will also remain the primary lottery system supplier to FDJ, supplying central system hardware, instant ticket vending machines and tech support and maintenance to the operator. IGT has been FDJ’s primary lottery central system supplier since 2000.
Responsible business practices have also been emphasised as part of the deal, with the tickets expected to use FSC-certified paper, non-toxic inks and reduced emissions practices.
On the expanded partnership, Chief French Lottery and Retail Sports Betting Business Unit Officer Patrick Buffard said: "In renewing our instant ticket contract for the coming three years, we were extremely interested in securing a partner who understands our business ambitions and shares our commitment to social and environmental responsibility."
IGT COO, Global Lottery Jay Gendron added: "IGT has established a strong understanding of FDJ's goals, and a keen awareness of its growth opportunities and sustainability commitments throughout our decades-long partnership.
Good to know: In early October, FDJ completed its tender offer to acquire Kindred, having purchased over 90% of the group’s shares. Swiftly following this, several Kindred Board members announced their resignation, including Chairman Evert Carlsson
"IGT's new three-year instant ticket printing contract with FDJ enables us to continue our collaboration, by leveraging our state-of-the-art printing facility and diverse game portfolio to meet FDJ's needs."
In August, IGT signed a three-year instant ticket contract with Portugal’s national lottery operator, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML), making IGT the main provider of instant ticket printing and other services to SCML.
IGT also extended its partnership with the North Carolina Education Lottery in October, with the supplier set to implement its Aurora central system into the lottery. The partnership will be effective from July 2027 to June 2037.
