Baha Mar has revealed the forthcoming launch of the John McEnroe Tennis Center, scheduled to open ahead of the fifth-annual Baha Mar Cup from 12–15 December 2024.
The centre, a collaboration with tennis icon John McEnroe, is designed to offer a wide range of facilities and programs for tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels.
The new centre includes six hard courts, two Har-Tru clay courts and six pickleball courts. It will provide training programs, private sessions, clinics and a fully equipped pro shop for visitors.
McEnroe, who will make appearances at the center throughout the year, said: "I'm extremely excited to launch this groundbreaking partnership agreement with Baha Mar. This incredible destination is the perfect stage to share my passion and love for the game and I can't wait to inspire players of all ages and levels – from novices to future champions."
Good to know: Proceeds from the Baha Mar Cup will fund tennis programs aimed at fostering the sport in the Bahamas.
The centre will debut during the Baha Mar Cup, a pro-am tennis tournament that raises funds for the Baha Mar Resort Foundation and the Mark Knowles Children's Tennis Initiative.
The event will feature tennis professionals, including Andy Roddick, James Blake and Donna Vekic, alongside McEnroe.
Baha Mar, a resort in the Caribbean, continues to integrate sports into its offerings, following its 2023 upgrade of the QCI Enterprise Platform to improve data-driven guest experiences.
The launch of the John McEnroe Tennis Center aligns with the resort's efforts to diversify its recreational activities while supporting local communities.
