Key points:

- Yggdrasil will be able to continue offering its games portfolio in Denmark

- The move follows changes to legislation in the nation starting 1 January 2025

Yggdrasil has received a B2B gaming licence from the Danish gambling authority, Spillemyndigheden. The move follows changing legislation in the nation which came into effect at the start of the year, allowing the iGaming publisher to continue offering its content portfolio to players in Denmark.

The company first entered the Danish market in 2017. This latest licence will allow the publisher to operate locally until 2029.

Yggdrasil CCO Jose Simon said: “We are thrilled to kick-start 2025 with such positive news as Yggdrasil continues to further showcase its presence in key regulated markets worldwide.

“As a brand with proud Scandinavian roots, we are extremely proud and wholly committed to continuing to offer Danish operators and their player base top gaming content of the highest quality.”

Good to know: Yggdrasil’s YGG Masters partner program allows additional content to be added to the publisher’s library. In June 2024, Hungrybear joined the program

Yggdrasil operates in nations around the world via a range of partnerships. Recent examples include its collaboration with Galera.bet in Brazil and Paf Group in Spain, while one of its YGG Masters partners, Hungrybear, received certification in the UK in December to offer its multiplayer slot game, SlotMasters, as a real-money game.

The brand has also entered into online collaborations, expanding its presence in the crypto betting market. In November it partnered with CoinCasino, bringing its portfolio of game titles to the platform.

Indeed, crypto casinos and crypto betting have become increasingly popular, especially in the past few years as public knowledge of it has grown. We explored the development and popularity of crypto betting in the 2024 Payments Focus issue of Gambling Insider magazine.
