Key points:
- LoSalt to be introduced at Buzz Bingo venues in Gateshead and Stockport
- A live-streamed charity bingo game will take place tomorrow across all its clubs
Buzz Bingo has launched a new initiative to help reduce high blood pressure and stroke risk throughout the UK.
Working with LoSalt and the Stroke Association, Buzz Bingo will introduce LoSalt at its venues in Gateshead and Stockport, areas which have been identified as stoke hotspots.
This comes ahead of Stroke Prevention Day on Thursday 30 January, where Buzz Bingo will be hosting a live-streamed charity bingo game in all clubs, as it looks to raise money for the Stroke Association.
On top of this, there will be fundraising activities organised across Buzz Bingo clubs, with the aim of raising £200,000 ($248,296.07) by the end of 2025.
Buzz Bingo Head of Brand Communications Mark Fletcher said: "Every penny counts, and together we can make a real difference in the lives of stroke survivors. We’ll also be selling our exclusive purple and yellow dabbers with 50p of each sale helping fund the charity's vital work in stroke recovery and prevention.
“However, we're going beyond club fundraising this Stroke Prevention Day. By partnering with LoSalt and hosting this exciting charity game, we're also empowering our customers to make informed decisions about their health while supporting the Stroke Association's vital work.”
LoSalt Technical Sales and Marketing Director Caroline Klinge commented: "Lowering your blood pressure, even by a small amount, can significantly reduce your risk of stroke. Eating too much sodium, primarily found in salt, is the biggest culprit behind high blood pressure.
Good to know: Buzz Bingo and the Stroke Association signed a three-year partnership in December 2022
“By switching to a reduced-sodium alternative like LoSalt, you can 'Season with Sense' and take control of your health. We're thrilled to partner with Buzz Bingo to offer their customers this opportunity at Buzz Bingo Metro Centre and Stockport.”
Stroke Assocation CEO Juliet Bouverie OBE added: “Around 100,000 people in the UK have a stroke every year and high blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for the condition. It’s vital that everyone knows what can cause a stroke, so they can proactively look after their health to reduce the risk.
“This Stroke Prevention Day, we’re encouraging adults of any age to get their blood pressure checked on a regular basis. We’re thrilled to have the support of Buzz Bingo and LoSalt to help raise awareness of the importance of managing your blood pressure to help lower your risk of stroke.”
