The new facility in Belgium adds to Internet Vikings’ existing European infrastructure and aims to support data localisation, performance and compliance requirements for iGaming operators.
Key points:
– Internet Vikings launches new data centre in Belgium to support EU operators
– The company offers locally managed cloud and redundant hosting from the site
– Expansion follows previous US partnerships, including RubyPlay and EveryMatrix
Internet Vikings has launched a new data centre in Belgium, strengthening its hosting infrastructure for the European iGaming and online sports betting sector.
The Swedish-based hosting provider, which has operated in the EU market for over 17 years, says the move is designed to improve local performance, resilience and regulatory compliance for operators active in the region.
Rickard Vikström, Founder and CEO of Internet Vikings, commented: “We are expanding our infrastructure across the EU to better support the needs of our clients. The Belgium launch is a practical step toward that goal.”
The new site allows for the deployment of fully managed cloud services and supports redundant setups linked to Internet Vikings’ existing data centres in Sweden and Amsterdam.
Good to know: The company said the infrastructure upgrade will help ensure high availability and data protection in line with European standards
In January 2025, Internet Vikings partnered with slot developer RubyPlay in New Jersey, providing bare metal server hosting from its Atlantic City facility. That partnership followed earlier deals with EveryMatrix in West Virginia and Spinomenal in New Jersey.
Vikström has previously stated that US operations now account for the majority of Internet Vikings’ revenue. However, the company has continued to invest in its European infrastructure, with Belgium now joining its network of regional hosting centres.
Internet Vikings’ hosting platform is tailored to the regulatory requirements of the iGaming industry and is currently active in over 25 US states and several regulated EU jurisdictions.
