The Irish operator has renewed its sponsorship for the Saturday of the annual horseracing meet in Galway.

Boyle Sports to sponsor the Galway Races for three more years

Key points:

– Deal will run for an additional three years

– Sponsorship bolstered by the addition of the €80,000 Galway Tribes Hurdle to the Saturday schedule

The recently rebranded Boyle Sports has inked an extension to its deal with the prestigious Galway Races and will remain as the Saturday title sponsor for a further three years.

The independent Irish bookmakers have renewed the deal that will see the brand’s name on the €110,000 ($127,000) day six feature, the Boyle Sports Handicap Hurdle and the €17,000 Boyle Sports Maiden Hurdle.

The €80,000 Galway Tribes Hurdle has in the past been run on the Friday, but a scheduling change will see that event come under the Boyle sponsorship umbrella.

Michael Moloney, CEO of the Galway Races, said: “This change gives horses that don’t make the cut for Thursday’s feature Hurdle another valuable opportunity to compete, enhancing the overall quality and excitement of the week’s racing.”

Good to know: Boyle Sports runs 27 premises on British high streets, but has previously announced plans for a much larger presence. They intend to open 200 more stores across the UK in the coming years and months

Boyle Sports will be pleased that the addition of the race increases the scope for visibility and the boon follows in the wake of the operator’s multi-year partnership deal with West Ham United

The company was founded in Ireland in 1982 and has a long history of association with horseracing.

In 2014, the operator became the headline sponsor of the Irish Grand National, a partnership that currently runs up until 2027.

The deal with the Galway Races is a newer affiliation and was established in 2022.

Liam McKee, Head of Sponsorship at Boyle Sports, saw this announcement as a sign of things coming together for the betting company: “This year’s renewal feels particularly special as it coincides with an exciting new chapter for Boyle Sports as our major brand relaunch gets underway.”
