Key points:

– The 2025 edition of the competition will now be called the Supertaça Candido de Oliveira Betano

Betano and the Portuguese Football Federation (Federacao Portuguesa de Futebol) have announced a new partnership that will see Betano become the title sponsor of the Supertaça Candido de Oliveira.

The partnership comes into effect immediately. This year’s edition of the Supertaça takes place on 31 July at Estadio Algarve between Sporting CP and SL Benfica which is officially named the Supertaça Candido de Oliveira Betano.

Betano, which has operated in the Portuguese market for six years, has previously sponsored a number of football properties both nationally and internationally. For example, Betano was announced as the Copa América Femenina 2025 Official Sponsor, with the tournament scheduled to take place in Ecuador from 12 July to 2 August.

Joao Medeiros Cardoso, Portuguese Football Federation Director of Marketing and New Business, stated: “We embrace this partnership with great excitement, as it involves a brand that will undoubtedly elevate the Super Cup.

“This marks a boost in the competition’s growth, driven by this new leadership, which will help reposition Portuguese football as one of the world’s leading footballing brands.”

Good to know: For this year’s Supertaça, the Portuguese Football Federation and Betano will be organising a series of initiatives and matchday activities

Ricardo Branquinho, Betano Portugal Country Manager, added: “We are extremely proud to associate Betano with the Supertaça Candido de Oliveira as its Title Sponsor, reinforcing our connection with the Portuguese Football Federation.

“We aim to continue elevating sports sponsorship in Portugal by bringing fans closer to the game they love.”

This new agreement follows Betano’s recent appointment as the official South American partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, building on its earlier collaboration with FIFA during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Betano’s growing presence is seeing it hit industry news with regularity. Just this morning, for example, its LatAm partnership with 7777 Gaming was announced.
