Paf signs partnership with Finnish Ski Association until 2030

Key points:

– Paf has signed a long-term agreement to become the main partner of the Finnish Ski Association through 2030, pending a Finnish gaming licence

– The partnership includes national ski teams and international competitions hosted in Finland

Paf and the Finnish Ski Association have signed a partnership agreement extending until 2030.

This will see Paf becoming the official main partner of the Finnish Ski Association when Finland’s new licensing system comes into force, provided the company is granted a licence.

The agreement applies to the A-teams in cross-country skiing, nordic combined and ski jumping, as well as the U23 and U20 cross-country skiing teams.

It also includes support for the FIS World Cup events in Ruka and Lahti, and the Finnish Cup in cross-country skiing.

The arrangement will be implemented in line with the planned reform of Finland’s gambling legislation. According to proposed legislation, Veikkaus’ monopoly on online betting, bingo and casino games will end by 2026. From 2027 licensed operators will be able to enter the Finnish market.

Good to know: Paf have previously partnered with Formula 1 champion Kimi Raikkonen on a multi-year agreement and with Shape Games

Marleena Valtasola, Finnish Ski Association ED, stated: “Our new strategy clearly defines us as a high-performance sports organisation, with success measured by the achievements of our athletes and stakeholders.

“In addition to domesticity and responsibility, a key value of this agreement is that it includes all our disciplines, the World Cup events in Ruka and Lahti, and the Finnish Cup.”

Thomas Näsman, Paf Manager, added: “We are truly excited about this new main partnership with the Finnish Ski Association.

“The disciplines governed by the association are a major part of Finnish identity and deeply valued by the public, both as hobbies and as elite sports.”
