MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

On 2 March, 2023, MLB announced that it had added FanDuel as another co-exclusive Official Sports Better Partner of the company. As per the multi-year partnership, FanDuel would obtain the rights to use official MLB branding in its products, including both its sportsbook and Daily Fantast offerings.

As part of the MLB All-Stars festivities in 2022, MLB made a number of partnerships with companies involved in youth baseball and softball, to increase accessibility for young people. These included EL1 Sports, a new Youth Baseball and Softball Training Partner of MLB, and Diamond Kinectics, a new Trusted Youth Development Platform of MLB.

In 2021, MLB expanded its partnership with DraftKings. This meant that DraftKings would be a co-exclusive Official Sports Betting Partner of MLB, alongside BetMGM. As well as this, DraftKings would remain the exclusive Official Daily Fantasy Sports partner of MLB.

Global Sports Venture Studio was founded in 2018, which named MLB as one of its founding partners. This platform connects companies from sports and entertainment industries with emerging startups, in order to create a more accessible ecosystem for smaller sports-based companies to expand.

EMPLOYMENT

Prior to his appointment as SVP of Business Development at MLB, Brett held several positions at the company. He joined the company in 2015 as a League Strategy and Labor Economics, before moving on to become a Manager of Business Development within a few months. Between then and now, Brett has also held positions as the Director of Business Development, Director of Strategy and Innovation, Senior Director and later VP of Gaming and New Business Ventures, before taking the role of SVP in March 2023.

For a brief time between 2017 and 2018, Brett left the MLB to work as a Director of Business Development and Content Acquisition at Bamtech Media. The company was founded as a spin-off of MLB Advanced Media, the digital arm of MLB.

Before his almost decade-long stint at the MLB, Brett worked as an Assistant for Minor League Operations at Seattle Marines, an Intern at Canal Partners LLC and an MBA Summer Associate for ZS Associates.

“Through those partnerships and working collaboratively, we have seen baseball sports betting be a great way to continue to grow our audience. It's something where I think we're still very much in the early stages. The UK is actually a priority market for us.“ Casey Brett
