D’Arcy Myers is the Interim CEO of GamCare, a British charity devoted to battling gambling addiction and other “gambling harms.” 

EMPLOYMENT

Myers has a long history of charitable work.  

Myers got his start as a volunteer for VSO from August 1991 to August 1993, where he worked with the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry in the Kingdom of Tonga. He then served as a Project Manager with World Vision International from January 1996 to March 1996 in the Republican of Armenia.  

He remained in Armenia with the United Methodist Committee on Relief, for which he served as a Project Director from March 1996 to October 1996. Then for three years, he worked as Project Director for the Council for World Mission, from July 1997 to September 2000.  

Next, he served as the CEO of Dreams Come True, a national charity that seeks to make the dreams of terminally ill or serious ill children become a reality. He held that position from October 2000 to December 2007.  

Then, Myers worked as the CEO of Wessex Heartbeat, an organization focused on heart conditions, from January 2008 to October 2011. From March 2010 to October 2011, he also served as the Non-Clinical Chair of the Organ Donation Committee – Southampton University Hospital Trust.  

After that, he served as CEO of the Rainbow Centre for Neurological Enablement for one year, from November 2011 to October 2012. From October 2012 to August 2013, he worked as a Menor and Business Advisor to Young Enterprise UK, an education and business charity.  

From January 2001 to May 2013, Myers was a Member of Business Network International and from September 2005 to September 2013 he was a Governor of St. Philip Howard High School. From January 2001 to August 2014, he was a Member of the Institute of Directors.  

From September 2010 to February 2015, he was the Founder of The Corporate Social Partnership.  

He also served on the Public Health Advisory Committee for Workplace Policy and Management Practices for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence from October 2013 to June 2015. He was a tutor for Hampshire School for Social Entrepreneurs from October 2013 to October 2015. He was a member of the Association of Project Management from January 2000 to December 2015 and a member of the Institute of Fundraising from January 2000 to December 2015.  

From January 2010 to December 2015, he served as the Founder of the South East Charity Forum. Myers was a Trustee of the Small Charities Coalition from January 2008 to October 2016. He worked as the Non-Executive Director-Chair of the Board of the Parity Trust from July 2013 to April 2018. He volunteered at Mentornet from March 2009 to June 2019. He was a member of The Catenian Association from August 2005 to September 2019. 

He was the Chair of Trustees for the Association of Charitable Organisations from April 2017 to July 2023. He has been a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing since 1995, a Knight of Merit with the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George since October 2011, the Chair of Trustees of Smallwood Trust since November 2016 and a Director of Consultdarcy Ltd. since September 2012.
