Kresimir Spajic

A veteran of the gaming industry, Spajic has decades of experience in executive and consulting roles with some of gaming’s biggest brands, including Great Canadian Entertainment, Apollo Global Management, Hard Rock International, Rush Street Interactive, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and Bwin.

Employment

His working life began in July 1995 as a professional athlete with the Croatian Football Federation, where he played for two years. Then, beginning in 2002, he was a lecturer on “Entrepreneurship in Sport” at VERN’ University of Applied Sciences in Zagreb, Croatia for a year. 

In March 2005, he became the marketing director for Potomac ltd, which makes, designs and sells silk products like neckties, scarves and shawls. He worked there, again in Zagreb, Croatia, for a little more than a year, then jumped to Austrian betting brand Bwin, becoming Regional Territory Manager / Principal Consultant former Yugoslavia from April 2006 to September 2007.

From there, he served as Managing Director PHD & Client Service Director OMG for Omnicom Media Group Croatia from February 2008 to September 2009, then became Regional Territory Manager / Principal Consultant Central Eastern Europe for Full Tilt in Dublin, Ireland from October 2009 to September 2011. 

His next stop was at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in New York City, where he served as Principal Consultant, Online Gaming from May 2013 to July 2014. Then he became the Principal Consultant, Online Gaming for Rush Street Interactive in Chicago from March 2015 to December 2015.

In January 2016, he was named Senior VP & Managing Director, Online Gaming and Sports Betting, the job he held the longest, until February 2021. 

Then he became President of iGaming for Great Canadian Entertainment for a little more than a year, from August 2021 to August 2022. Most recently, before his appointment as CEO of Betfred USA, he worked as an advisor to Apollo Global Management from August 2021 to August 2022.

In July 2023, Spajic was appointed as CEO of Betfred Sportsbook in the US. He would oversee local markets, technology integration and strategies to onboard new customers.

Just over two years later, on 21 August 2025, Spajic was named as the CEO of the newly opened Allwyn Digital division. He is responsible for advancing Allwyn’s iGaming, Sportsbook, and digital product capabilities. He will report to CEO Robert Chvatal and be based in Lucerne.
