Stephanie Piimauna’s extensive experience in diversity and inclusion have made her a standout leader in the gaming industry. Her career that has seen her facilitating meaningful change and fostering inclusive environments. After joining Seminole Hard Rock Support Services in 2021, Piimauna currently serves as the company’s Senior Vice President of People and Inclusion as well as the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Piimauna has over two decades of experience in HR, Learning & Development and DE&I, having served in executive roles for a broad range of companies, including Gilead Sciences and MGM Resorts International.  

Her successful career ultimately saw her joining Seminole Hard Rock Support Services in 2021 as the Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. 

In July 2024, it was announced that she had been promoted to Senior Vice President of People and Inclusion, taking on additional responsibilities for Human Resources while continuing to oversee Tribal Career Development and Global Social Responsibility. 

EMPLOYMENT

Piimauna's career began as an Assistant Hotel Manager at the Bellagio Casino and Resort from September 2000 to September 2003. In this role, she was responsible for the efficient operations of the large casino hotel, focusing on risk management, employee recruitment and maintaining 5-star customer service standards.  

Following her tenure at Bellagio, she joined Cox Communications as a Training Specialist from September 2003 to October 2005. Here she trained various clients in the gaming industry on the Hospitality Network movie system and participated in sales meetings and negotiations. 

In 2005, Piimauna ventured into entrepreneurship by opening Craze, a women’s apparel boutique. She managed all aspects of the business, from HR activities to financial management and purchasing, until 2006.  

Her career then transitioned to Guardian Quest, where she served as a Senior Diversity and Inclusion Consultant/Facilitator from October 2005 to April 2011. Here, she developed experiential training programs focused on diversity and inclusion. She also advised organisations on strategies to enhance workforce diversity and engagement. 

Piimauna’s next move saw her becoming a Major Account Manager at Verizon Wireless – a role that she held for just over a year from June 2011 to July 2012. 

Afterwards, she joined SMCOV as a Senior Diversity and Inclusion Learning Consultant from 2012 to 2014, developing and facilitating training programs to address recruitment, customer service and employee engagement issues. 

From 2014 to 2015, Piimauna worked as a Learning and Development Manager at Four Seasons Resorts Maui, delivering workplace learning and performance improvement programs to drive operational standards and quality assurance.  

Her career then advanced to MGM Resorts International, where she served as the Executive Director of Diversity & Inclusion Programs and Education from February 2015 to March 2020. In this role, she partnered with senior executives to embed D&I into business operations, managed a substantial budget and led the development of various educational programs – including the L.E.A.D. (Learning Experiences Accelerate Development) professional development program. 

In March 2020, Piimauna joined Gilead Sciences as the Director of Inclusion & Diversity, a position she held until February 2021. Here, she was responsible for designing and integrating targeted inclusion and diversity strategies. 

Finally, in February 2021 Piimauna joined Seminole Hard Rock Support Services as the Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. In this role, she has developed and led the company's DE&I strategy, expanding Team Member Resource Groups and earning several accolades for the company.  

In July 2024, it was announced that she had been promoted to Senior Vice President of People and Inclusion, taking on additional responsibilities for Human Resources while continuing to oversee Tribal Career Development and Global Social Responsibility.
