Stephen Crystal

Stephen Crystal is the Founder and CEO of SCCG Management, a consultancy for the iGaming and casino industries. The company has specialised in sports betting, iGaming, sports marketing, affiliate marketing, technology, intellectual property protection, product commercialisation, esports, capital formation, M&A, joint ventures, casino management, as well as in governmental and legal affairs since 1992.

Major Achievements

Crystal earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from Dartmouth College in 1987. He went on to the American University Washington College of Law in 1989 and graduated in 1992 with a Doctorate.

Under his leadership, the company recently partnered with Brazil-based law firm Abdala Advogados to influence the Brazilian commercial gaming market, as well as “ensure that stakeholders, investors, and businesses enjoy a well-informed, legally sound and strategic advantage.”

Crystal has also led the charge toward an alliance between SCCG Management and the Pillow Fight Championship (PFC), a sport that is steadily gaining global recognition. He recently described the partnership with the league as a “match made in heaven.”

Employment

Crystal is no stranger to the casino and iGaming industries. His lengthy career spans more than 30 years. He is a former Nevada-licensed Las Vegas casino owner and executive and has acquired a wealth of knowledge in both he iGaming and casino arenas.

Prior to entering the gambling industry, Crystal served New Hampshire as a State Representative from 1986 to 1988. He represented Hanover, New Hampshire during his term and served on the state’s Energy Committee. While in office, Crystal authored Aid to Blind legislation and Motor Voter.

However, it would be in 1992 when Crystal founded SCCG Management, the consultancy business that covers almost every facet of the iGaming industry.

Since then, Crystal has been unstoppable with his endeavours in gambling. In January 2000, he Co-Founded Barrick Gaming, the licensed owner and operator of six hotel casinos in Downtown Las Vegas. He would hold the position of President until December 2005.

Between January 2006 and January 2012, Crystal would be the CEO or President of several gaming technology companies. This would grant him invaluable experience with electronic table games (ETGs), keno & bingo, picture in picture technology (PIP), casino management systems (CMS), lottery, Native American casino development and card rooms.

In January 2018, he would launch The Crystal Rapport Podcast, where he would bring on leaders from the gambling industry to discuss different matters.

Alongside running SCCG Management, Crystal currently works as Head of North America Development for Betfred, which he started in 2018.

Finally, in November 2021, he founded the SCCG Venture Fund. This company invests in early-stage sports betting, sports data, sports marketing, iGaming, compliance & responsible gaming, esports wagering, crypto, blockchain, NFTs technology companies that show potential in the industry.

Products Launched

Crystal recently led SCCG Management to form a strategic partnership with the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL). Under the terms of the deal, the two worked together to provide New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts with licensing approval services.

The company said it collaborated with regulatory organisations to make sure that AUDL’s operations meet the compliance laws and regulations in all three states.

Crystal elaborated further by saying, “Our team has a proven track record of navigating the complex regulatory landscape in these states and we are confident that our expertise will help ensure a smooth licensing process for AUDL.”
