Isaacs’ journey into the world of work began in the legal sector, practising as a solicitor with Dunhill Madden Butler in Australia for seven years from 1986 to 1993. He then progressed to become a partner at Phillips Fox in June 1993 where he spent a further five and a half years.
Isaacs then transitioned to the gaming industry in December 1998 when he joined Aristocrat as President – a role that he ultimately held for over seven years from December 1998 to May 2006.
His success at Aristocrat paved the way for his next major role at Bally Technologies in June 2006. At Bally’s, Isaacs was appointed as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for overseeing the company's operations and strategic initiatives for just shy of five years.
In April 2011, Isaacs took on a new role as the Chief Executive Officer at Shuffle Master. He held this role for two and a half years from April 2011 to November 2013.
Next, Isaacs briefly served as Executive Vice President at MacAndrews & Forbes from January 2014 to June 2014, before taking on a prominent role at Scientific Games. Initially serving as President & CEO of Scientific Games, he later became the company’s Vice Chairman of the Board. In total, Isaacs’ tenure at Scientific Games lasted four and a half years from June 2014 to December 2018.
In January 2019, Isaacs became Chairman of SBTech, helping guide the company through its sale to DraftKings in 2020. Concurrently, Isaacs served on the board of DraftKings, providing valuable insights during this critical phase for the company.
Isaacs' expertise was further recognised when he took on roles as Chairman of Altitude Acquisition Corporation from December 2020 to September 2022 and as an Advisor to the Boards of Jackpocket and PureSoftware starting in 2019. Additionally, in June 2022, Isaacs was appointed as Chairman of Games Global.
Finally, in July 2024 it was announced that Isaacs had been appointed as the new CEO of Entain, effective September 2024.
