Domingo's career trajectory showcases a blend of legal and financial strategy, with a history of success throughout his leadership roles in the gaming and hospitality industry.
Throughout his time as President and COO at Empire City Casino, Domingo was instrumental in transforming the MGM Resorts International property – leading efforts to expand the casino’s operations, enhance guest experiences and position the property for a full-scale commercial casino licence.
EMPLOYMENT
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Domingo’s early academic pursuits led him to Duke University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He furthered his education by obtaining a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
Following on from his formal education, Domingo began his career practicing law – providing him with a strong foundation in regulatory compliance and corporate governance. This saw him taking a position as an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, in which he focused on corporate law in real estate and structured finance from 2003 to 2006.
His subsequent transition into the gaming and hospitality sector saw him taking on significant roles that leveraged his legal and financial expertise. In 2007, he joined Caesars Entertainment where he held several key positions – starting off as President’s Associate before taking on the role of Continuous Improvement Site Leader in 2008. After two years in this position, Domingo was promoted to the spot of Vice President of Finance & Administration – a position that he held for a further two years before moving on.
Following his departure from Caesars Entertainment, Domingo served as Vice President of Finance at Midwest Gaming & Entertainment from 2012 to 2016. Here, he played an important role in financial planning and analysis, ensuring the company's financial health and supporting its expansion initiatives.
Next, in 2016, Domingo joined MGM Resorts International as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Bellagio resort in Las Vegas. In this capacity, he managed financial operations and contributed to initiatives that enhanced the resort's profitability and market presence.
Domingo's leadership journey continued at Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts, where he was appointed to the role of President and Chief Operating Officer in 2019. In this capacity, his role demanded the overseeing of day-to-day operations, leading a team of over 1,000 employees and managing one of the largest gaming floors in the US.
In a recent development, Domingo announced his imminent departure from Empire City Casino to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer at Crown Melbourne. This transition signifies a significant milestone in his career, and Domingo is expected to leverage his insights to steer the Australian casino chain towards sustained growth going forwards.
Commenting on Domingo’s appointment to the role, Crown Resorts CEO, David Tsai, stated: “Ed has a proven track record in leading integrated resorts, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Crown Melbourne. With his extensive industry experience across various gaming jurisdictions, Ed is well-positioned to lead Crown Melbourne’s next phase of growth and success.”
