Stefan Tweraser

Stefan Tweraser is an Austrian business leader with over two decades of experience guiding digital, media and technology enterprises across Europe. Appointed CEO of Zeal Network SE in September 2025, he will now lead the German online lottery provider into its next phase of innovation, succeeding long-serving chief executive Helmut Becker.

Tweraser’s appointment marks his first formal role within the gambling industry. His appointment at Zeal comes at a time of continued momentum for the business.

Major Achievements

Tweraser’s tenure at Google Germany (2008–2013) saw him oversee sales and market development across the DACH region, spearheading outreach to underserved SMEs and leading Google’s response to landmark regulatory challenges such as the “Lex Google” media law. Later, as CEO of SnapShot, he scaled a pan-European hospitality analytics platform and at Deezer, leading product, marketing and growth strategy during a period of intensifying competition in the streaming sector.

Early on in his career, during his tenure at Telekom Austria AG, Tweraser was named Austria’s “Marketer of the Year” by the IAA.

Most recently, he served as CEO of Rocket Factory Augsburg, where he oversaw development of launch vehicles for the commercial space sector – a role that demonstrated his continued focus on emerging technologies and cross-sector leadership.

Employment

Tweraser began his career in academia, serving as a teaching and research assistant at the Vienna University of Economics and Business from 1994 to 1997, followed by a directorial role in Marketing and Sales at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences.

In 1998, he joined McKinsey & Company, where he rose to partner status by 2003. Later that year, he transitioned to Telekom Austria AG as Divisional Head of Retail Marketing. In this role, he oversaw product management, market communications and internet strategy, managing both growth targets and sensitive restructuring measures.

In 2008, Tweraser became Country Director Sales for Google Germany, subsequently assuming leadership for the Austria and Switzerland markets. He was a prominent voice during Google’s policy engagement efforts with German lawmakers, defending digital access in the face of proposed licensing restrictions. He stepped down in early 2013.

Tweraser was named CEO of SnapShot GmbH in 2015, a role which saw him help the Berlin-based firm become a notable analytics player within the hospitality tech ecosystem. From there, he transitioned to Deezer, the French music streaming company, where he served as Chief Marketing, Product and Growth Officer.

Between 2020 and 2024, Tweraser led Rocket Factory Augsburg as CEO, guiding its commercial aerospace development during a pivotal growth phase.

In July 2025, Zeal Network announced Tweraser as incoming CEO, with a mandate to expand its lottery portfolio, deepen brand engagement and ensure operational continuity following Dr Becker’s decade-long tenure. He formally joins the management board in August and assumes full CEO duties from 15 September 2025.
