The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has enhanced its “Bingo for A Cause’’ program. Its aim is to raise more funds for local government units (LGUs) and non-government organisations (NGOs) to help their socio-civic programs.
The state-approved enhancement would allow LGUs and NGOs to earn roughly 50% shares from the proceeds of PAGCOR-conducted bingo events.
“The revised bingo package will give our partners the option to sell tickets from as low as Php100 to Php1,000 each, depending on the package that they choose,” PAGCOR Assistant Vice President Maria Teresa Ocampo said. “The proceeds will even go higher depending on their ticket sales.”
Ocampo added that the ‘Bingo for A Cause’ project allow communities and organisations to enjoy the fun and thrill of bingo games in a lawful way, while contributing to worthy causes.
“Like any game of chance, only PAGCOR has the mandate to authorise bingo activities, hence bingo games without PAGCOR’s permission are illegal,” she concluded, reminding organisations to coordinate with PAGCOR first if they were to plan any future bingo events.
Elsewhere in the bingo world, Gala Bingo partnered with Moonpig to produce a limited edition collection of greeting cards based on traditional bingo calls.
