IGT PlaySports unveils partnership extension with Boyd Gaming

Key points:

– IGT PlaySports and Boyd Gaming have extended their Nevada partnership for three years

– The pair will continue to collaborate via Boyd’s retail sports betting locations in the state

– IGT first began powering Boyd’s retail sportsbook locations in 2018

Supplier IGT PlaySports has extended its arrangement with Boyd Gaming, with the company set to continue powering the operator’s online and retail sportsbook offerings in the state of Nevada for at least three additional years.

The pair initially entered into business with each other in 2018, with IGT now powering retail sports betting at Boyd Gaming locations across a total of nine US states. Indeed, this new extension will see the partnership continue until 2028 – with Boyd Gaming also able to continue running IGT PlaySports Kiosks at 10 of its Nevada-based retail sports betting spots.

Speaking on this latest announcement, Boyd Gaming VP of Race & Sports Operations, Bob Scucci, said: “Boyd Gaming is pleased to announce our decision to continue powering our retail and mobile sportsbooks in Nevada with IGT PlaySports technology. As the core technology of our sports betting offering in Nevada, IGT PlaySports’ platform enables us to evolve Boyd Sports in ways that deliver incremental value to our players and seamlessly scale our offering to address new business opportunities.”

For Boyd Gaming, this latest deal closely follows the announcement that the operator would be adopting Agilysys InfoGenesis POS across 28 of its properties. Elsewhere, the company also reported a total Q1 revenue of $991.6m – up 3.2% year-on-year.

On the other side of the deal, IGT PlayDigital also recently extended an additional Nevada-based partnership with Golden Nugget in February.

Good to know: May was a significant month of IGT on a broader scale, with the company securing both the Italian Lottory licence alongside GCGRA licensure in the UAE

Commenting on this latest news, IGT’s SVP of Sports Betting, Joe Bertolone, stated: “IGT PlaySports looks forward to continuing our close partnership with Boyd Gaming in Nevada for three additional years and helping them engage players across channels in the most mature, competitive sports betting market in the US.

“IGT PlaySports continues to invest in and grow our footprint in Nevada. The performance, reliability and scalability of our technology stack and self-service betting technologies ensure our customers benefit from the most comprehensive B2B solution in North America.”
