Maurice Wooden is the President of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, where he will oversee all operations of the 3,644 hotel rooms, 550,000 sq ft of convention space and 150,000 sq ft of gaming space.

Major Achievements

Wooden has 36 years of experience in the gaming industry, initially rising from a Supervisor to the President of a Las Vegas casino. He’s worked for a litany of luxury casino resort properties in Las Vegas and elsewhere and has served on the boards of directors of several casinos, as well as a public agency and a nonprofit.

On his new role at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Fontainebleau Development Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Soffer said: “Throughout his career, Maurice has proven himself as a leader dedicated to evolving the luxury hospitality experience on the Las Vegas Strip.

“His well-established track record along with his unparalleled consistency and a deep knowledge of the hospitality and gaming industries instil an exceptional level of confidence in us as we continue the development and refinement of our Las Vegas property.” 

Employment

Wooden first joined the industry in 1999, when he was made VP of Operations at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino, which is operated by MGM Resorts. 

One year later, in 2000, he would join The Mirage in Las Vegas for five months as VP of Casino Marketing. 

After this, Wooden was appointed as President of the Golden Nugget Las Vegas, which he held for just under five years. During this time, he managed 2,400 guest rooms, a casino, a luxury spa and other attractions. 

His longest tenure was with Wynn Las Vegas, where he was President for almost 14 years between 2005 and 2018. Between then and the present, Wooden has also been the Group President of The Original Fit Factory, President of MR Management & Consulting and President of Landry’s. 

He’s also held several board positions, including on the Board of Wynn Macau, Board of the Las Vegas Convention Authority and Chaired the Compensation Committee. He was the Vice Chairman of Las Vegas Events.

Finally, Wooden joined Fontainebleau Las Vegas as President in January 2024.
