President
Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Maurice Wooden is the President of Fontainebleau Las Vegas. He is taking on the role from former President, Mark Tricano, who will continue to report to Wooden.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Wooden has 36 years of experience in the gaming industry, initially rising from a supervisor to the head of a Las Vegas casino. He’s worked for a litany of luxury casino resort properties in Las Vegas and elsewhere and has served on the boards of directors of several casinos as well as a public agency and a nonprofit.

Wooden's previous role was at Fertitta Entertainment, a holding company of Tilman Fertitta’s gaming, restaurant, hospitality and entertainment investments, including Landry's, Inc., the NBA's Houston Rockets and the Golden Nugget casinos. Landry’s hospitality divisions include a restaurant segment with about 520 outlets. Wooden was appointed by Fertitta Entertainment in late May 2023.

On his new role at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Fontainebleau Development Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Soffer said: "Throughout his career, Maurice has proven himself as a leader dedicated to evolving the luxury hospitality experience on the Las Vegas Strip.

"His well-established track record along with his unparalleled consistency and a deep knowledge of the hospitality and gaming industries instil an exceptional level of confidence in us as we continue the development and refinement of our Las Vegas property.”

EMPLOYMENT

Wooden got his start in 1987 as a supervisor at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas. He eventually worked his way up to president of Golden Nugget Las Vegas. Throughout his career, he also served in various leadership roles at luxury casino resorts such as the Beau Rivage Casino Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi and The Mirage Las Vegas. Prior to joining Fertitta Entertainment, Wooden served as president and COO of Hospitality for the Wynn and Encore Las Vegas properties.

He was President of the Wynn from 2013 to 2019, during the time when Steve Wynn resigned as chairman and chief executive of his company amid allegations of sexual misconduct. Wooden for the most part did not get swept up in the scandal. He’s also held several board positions, including on the Board of Wynn Macau, Board of the Las Vegas Convention Authority and Chaired the Compensation Committee. He was the vice chairman of Las Vegas Events.

In 2024 Wooden took on the role of President at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

It is extraordinarily invigorating and a tremendous honour to take on the responsibility of leading an incredible team during this defining moment in Las Vegas. The rich history and cultural alignment with this iconic brand resonate with my own passions and I'm looking forward to building on the 70 years of incredible culture that Fontainebleau has established Maurice Wooden
