Max Tappeiner

Max Tappeiner is an accomplished hospitality executive with over 20 years of international experience in the luxury hotel and resort industry. Recognised for his expertise in hotel management and general property operations, Tappeiner has played pivotal operational roles at some of the most prestigious resort properties in the world.

Employment

Tappeiner’s career began in 2003 when he joined the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Here, he spent nearly eight years in progressively senior roles, starting as Assistant Front Office Manager and Banquets Manager. Following four years in this role, he was promoted to Front Office Manager, then Director of Front Office Operations two years after that.  

In July 2011, he was promoted once more to the role of Director of Rooms, before ultimately being appointed as Hotel Manager in November 2013.  

During his long tenure with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Tappeiner demonstrated his ability to oversee many diverse aspects of hotel management, from front office operations to strategic planning – sowing the seeds for his accomplished career in the world of luxury hotel operations.  

In 2015, Tappeiner transitioned to The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, where he served as the Vice President of Hotel Operations. In this role, he managed a team of over 5,000 employees and oversaw the operations of a resort with more than 7,000 suites.  

Tappeiner’s expertise and leadership skills then caught the attention of Resorts World Las Vegas, where he was appointed as the Senior Vice President of Operations in June 2019. He joined the project two years before its opening and played an important role in planning the technology infrastructure and securing high-profile entertainment deals – overseeing various operational divisions including sales, marketing, revenue management and hotel operations. 

After two and a half years with Resorts World Las Vegas, Tappeiner left to embark on an entrepreneurial journey in November 2021, launching his own consulting firm – MT Consulting. In this role, he provided strategic business consulting services to organisations of all sizes. 

Tappeiner’s industry knowledge eventually led him to join Wynn Resorts in 2023, where he held the positions of Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President of Operations at Wynn Las Vegas.  

Finally, in August 2024, it was announced that Tappeiner had been appointed as the new President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, a new integrated resort project in the United Arab Emirates.  

Scheduled to open in 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island marks Wynn Resorts’ expansion into the UAE, and Tappeiner’s role as President will see him guiding this ambitious project through its final stages of development and into its operational phase. 

Products Launched

Having served in a number of leadership roles for a range of different resorts, it was announced in August 2024 that Tappeiner had been appointed as the President of Wynn Al Marjan Island. In this new role, Tappeiner is responsible for guiding the ambitious project through its final stages of development and into its operational phase – with the project’s opening currently slated for 2027.
