Starting her journey with Spirit Mountain Casino in 1996, Camille Mercier spent 14 years with the company before pursuing other ventures with companies within the casino and hotel industry. Finally, in late September 2021 she returned to the company, taking her position as CEO in May of this year. With over 25 years' experience both inside and outside of Spirit Mountain Casino, Mercier is leading her position with a breadth and depth of knowledge.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Mercier has spent the majority of her career working for or alongside Spirit Mountain Casino, which is a tribal casino in Oregon in the Willamette Valley. Her position as CEO of the company was one forged not only by experience but an education to boot, having received a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development & Business from George Fox University and a Masters of Business Administration from Willamette University in 2009.  

Her position as CEO of Spirit Mountain Casino was a culmination of over fifteen years of work and puts her in the small but elite collection of women in CEO positions in the gambling sector, standing alongside the likes of FanDuel CEO Amy Howe and CEO of bet365 Denise Coates.  

EMPLOYMENT

Her first listed job and first job in the casino industry was at the very company she now operates as CEO. Beginning in August 1996 and concluding in March 2011, Mercier spent 14 years as HR Director at Spirit Mountain Casino. 

In her decade-long stint outside of Spirit Mountain Casino, Mercier worked as Director of Human Resources at Ameristar Casino Hotel Council Bluffs, Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel and Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde, where she worked for four, three and two years respectively. It was in this last position, at Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde, where she reconnected with Spirit Mountain Casino.  

Having moved back to Oregon after eight years spent mostly between Ameristar Casino Hotel Council Bluffs and Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel, her position with Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde which started in February 2019, where she was responsible for Human Resources at the Tribal Government and, notably, Spirit Mountain Casino. It was upon leaving this position in September 2021 that she took on a C-Suite position at Spirit Mountain Casino, spending a year and a half as Assistant CEO before moving up to the position of CEO in May 2023.  

Mercier's commitment to Human Resources, and her persistence in her work with Spirit Mountain Casino, has made her a key figure in the business and an important factor when considering the businesses successes over the past 20 years. Moreover, as a Tribal casino, her efforts have offered opportunities for growth and self-sufficiency, with Spirit Mountain Casino being a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde, which supports varying housing, education and cultural programs for those in the region under guidance from the Tribal Council.
