Carl Brincat is a well-regarded executive within the Gaming industry. Serving 10 years with the MGA gained Brincat key C-Level experience, as he utilised his knowledge of entertainment law to the organisation’s benefit. As of July 2024, he has officially moved on to the role of Director of Policy & Regulatory Affairs for LeoVegas.
After graduating from the University of Malta with a First Class Law Degree in 2011, Brincat continued his further education by becoming a Doctor of Law at L-Univeristà ta’ Malta.
Whilst earning his doctorate, Brincat also began his professional career, working at Emmanuel Mallia & Associates Advocates for just over three years.
Then, in 2014, Brincat moved on to begin his career with the Malta Gaming Authority, initially stepping into the role of Legal Advisor.
Shortley thereafter, he was promoted to Senior Legal Advisor in 2015, a role which he would then hold for an additional two years.
His journey continued in 2017 when he became Deputy General Counsel for the MGA.
A little over a year later, Brincat stepped into his first C-Level role as Chief Legal Counsel in January 2019.
Brincat only held this position for nine months until he became the Chief Legal and Enforcement Officer in October of 2019 – five years after joining the company.
Then, in 2021 Brincat’s extensive industry expertise and company knowledge led him to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Gaming Authority, a position within which he would remain for just over three years.
Now, the former MGA CEO has been appointed as Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at LeoVegas which is his current role today
