MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Saxon's recent appointment as CTO at GiG has been marked by achievements that come with 30 years of IT experience, of which most was spent in banking.
Throughout his career, Saxon has had experience in organisational change, having been through three IPOs and involved with numerous mergers & acquisitions, including experience of both acquirer and target.
He has also led the development of various mobile-first strategies, ensuring products are accessible and user-friendly across various devices. With his long-term experience in the field, Saxon has seen a wide variety of technological innovations and trends.
Matthew Saxon's tenure as CTO at GiG reflects one earned through many years of experience.
Saxon’s current position will be based in London.
EMPLOYMENT
Saxon's journey in the tech world began some three decades ago, where he honed his skills in software development and IT infrastructure. Prior to joining GiG, his first notable role was as a Technical Architect at Woolwich, beginning in September 1993 and ending nearly a decade later in March 2003.
Following this Saxon took up another decade-long Technical Architect role, this time at Barclays. Concluding in July 2013, he then moved on to become Lead Infrastructure Architect at HSBC Global Banking, working for four months in London.
After this, Saxon spent a year as a Senior Consultant at PwC, before joining Worldpay in February 2015 as Lead Enterprise Architect – Applications. After three years in this role he moved on to become the company's Head of Enterprise Architecture (UK), working in this position from February 2018 to July 2019.
Following this, Saxon made his entry into the gaming market, joining Sportradar as SVP, Technology Strategy & Architecture. He held this role for four years until November 2023, when he became CTO – Platform and Sportsbook at GiG.
Through these roles, Saxon was able to develop skills in navigating the ever-evolving tech landscape. His technical experience, combined with leadership roles in Senior and Head positions now follow him into his latest role with GiG.
