Van Slooten has been recognised for his leadership and contributions across various industries. Notable achievements include leading continuous improvement programs and implementing safety, health and sustainability initiatives.
EMPLOYMENT
Hans van Slooten began his career in the hospitality industry with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, where he served as a consultant from 2008 to 2010 after completing an internship from 2006 to 2008. He then joined Sligro Food Group as a Program Manager from 2010 to 2013, where he managed various projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
In 2013, van Slooten transitioned to FrieslandCampina, where he held multiple roles over five years. Initially, he served as the Business Group Manager for Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Sustainability for the Cheese, Butter & Milkpowder business group – overseeing 19 plants in Europe.
In 2017, he became a Change Leader, leading the Continuous Improvement Program (WCOM-R) at FrieslandCampina.
From 2018 to 2021, van Slooten worked at Meerwegen Scholengroep as the Director of the Staff Office. In this role, he was ultimately responsible for the central departments of finance, HR, ICT, purchasing and planning and control for a group of seven secondary schools with 800 employees.
In 2021, van Slooten joined Holland Casino as the Regional Casino Manager for the North-East region, where he was responsible for the Groningen, Leeuwarden and Enschede branches, managing over 325 full-time employees. His role included P&L responsibility and ensuring operational excellence across the region.
On 9 July 2024, Holland Casino announced the appointment of Hans van Slooten as its new Director of Operations. Van Slooten will take over the role from Noël Leise, who has been with Holland Casino for 39 years. Van Slooten started his new role on 1 October 2024.
Holland Casino CEO Petra de Ruiter stated: “With Hans, we have found a worthy internal successor to Noël as Director of Operations. Hans has a lot of experience both inside and outside Holland Casino. His strength is that he is close to the people, both our guests and our employees.”
It is a great honour to succeed Noël. I have great respect for his wonderful career, his commitment and inexhaustible drive for our beautiful company. Although it will not always be easy to follow in his footsteps, I will take on my responsibilities with and for the operation with dedication.
