Lottery reports record revenues

National Lottery sales and donations to good causes both reached record levels in 2011/12.

Operators Camelot report that revenue generated from the selling of products such as tickets and scratch cards was up 12.1% to £65.bn, while good cause donations rose 9.6% to £1.8bn.

Designated lottery games successfully raised the targeted £750m for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, part of an overall National Lottery contribution of £2.2bn to the Olympic Games.

Camelot managing director Andy Duncan said: “The National Lottery is truly life-changing – for the hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries of lottery funding and for all of the big winners we create each and every week.”
