With this approval, SMGHA will close the transaction on 17 December 2021 and own Palms Casino Resort; the resort is scheduled to open next year in spring.

The new location will create more than 1,000 jobs, ranging from casino operations, hotel management and food and beverage, along with supervisor positions. The recruitment process has begun and interested applicants can apply on the Palms Casino Resort website.

Along with the casino, Palms includes over 700 hotel rooms and suites, numerous casual and upscale dining options, meeting and convention space, a theatre with seating for 2,500 guests, a pool and spa, and Palms Place condominiums.

“We are grateful for this opportunity to share our long-standing tradition of hospitality with Las Vegas and execute our vision for this iconic resort, starting by welcoming back former and current Palms employees. Together, we will create history,” said SMGHA Chairwoman Latisha Casas.

Laurens Vosloo, SMGHA Management Committee Member, added: “We would like to extend a sincere ‘thank-you’ to Red Rock Resorts and its leadership team. We deeply appreciate the support and ongoing partnership they provided as we worked through the transition of ownership.”

SMGHA is an affiliate of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians that owns and operates Yaamava’ Resort and Casino at San Manuel in Highland. The Yaamava’ Resort and Casino features 432 guest rooms, over 6,500 slot machines, a high-limit gaming room, retail shops, and bars and restaurants.
