Athletes Unlimited partners with Sportradar Integrity Services

Athletes Unlimited has selected Sportradar Integrity Services (SIS) to protect its competitions from match-fixing and betting-related corruption.

SIS, a division of sports data provider Sportradar, offers services designed to uphold the integrity of sporting events by delivering analysis on irregular betting patterns and potential evidence of corruption.

During 2021, SIS reported over 900 suspicious matches to its partners, with a total of 6,900 witnessed over the last 17 years.

As part of its deal with Athletes Unlimited, it will protect women’s sporting competitions from match-fixing and corruption through a four-point process.

This includes the use of its Universal Fraud Detection System to monitor and report on suspicious betting patterns, providing a series of education and prevention services, conducting an integrity audit on Athletes Unlimited’s current policies and assisting with any potential integrity threats.

Nicole Pawlak, Senior Director of Special Projects, Athletes Unlimited, commented: “We are thrilled to partner with global industry leader Sportradar as we continue to expand our betting platform for our fans. We are committed to building a legitimate and safe experience that will help us generate increased interest in our sports leagues while preserving the integrity of our play.”

Sportradar has increased its involvement across women’s sports in recent times, entering partnerships with organisations related to basketball, football, tennis and golf.

Jill Exley, Integrity Partnerships Director, North America, Sportradar, said: “By choosing Sportradar as its integrity partner, Athletes Unlimited is taking a critical and proactive step in safeguarding its brand and business, as its competitions continue to grow and attract more interest from fans.

“We look forward to supporting them with our industry-leading integrity products and services and being a part of their exciting journey as they revolutionise how women’s professional sports are organised and experienced by fans.”
