Krantz boasts considerable iGaming experience, having himself held C-level positions in the industry for over 12 years.
This includes more than two years with Yggdrasil, where until his recent promotion, Krantz served as Chief of Global Marketing Operations (CGMO).
Prior to this, he held various positions at Stockholm-based supplier NetEnt. During his decade-long tenure with the company, Krantz served as Managing Director and CGMO, as well as Acting President and CEO.
Immediately prior to his departure from NetEnt, he held the role of Chief Operating Officer, and before entering the gaming industry, Krantz worked for Swedish telecommunications giant Ericsson.
Yggdrasil was founded in 2013 by Krantz’s fellow Swede and NetEnt alumni Elmqvist, whose decision to pass on the torch displays a significant level of trust in the veteran executive’s abilities.
Commenting on his appointment, Krantz said: “It’s with great humbleness I am taking over as CEO after Fredrik. I have enormous respect for the history, company legacy and its awesome culture.
“It’s all about the people and building strong and winning teams, and it’s a great pleasure for me to have such talented and motivated people around me every single day.
“We have a clear strategy, and together with the rest of the management team I look forward to delivering on our global growth ambitions, and to further strengthen our position as the leading iGaming publisher and premium global iGaming solutions provider.”
