Céline Crawford has been promoted to Chief People Officer from her current role as Chief Communications Officer (CCO), while Arnaud Thiercelin has joined Smarkets as Chief Product Officer.
Crawford has been with Smarkets for almost seven years, having joined in 2015 as CCO, and until her recent promotion, was responsible for managing all internal and external communications.
Prior to joining Smarkets, Crawford worked in the banking and comms sectors for over a decade, at companies such as FinnCap and Commerzbank.
“I’m proud to be part of a company like Smarkets that elevates women while they are away on maternity leave juggling the art of caregiving and parenting,” remarked Crawford.
“I also believe Smarkets has a compelling product proposition to win in betting.”
Thiercelin, meanwhile, has a background in software engineering and most recently worked for drone software company Auterion.
During his career, Thiercelin has worked for multiple technology brands, including major drone manufacturer DJI.
Thiercelin commented: “I’m passionate about creating products that customers love and what Smarkets is building has limitless potential. This is an industry ripe for change and I’m excited to be a part of that.”
Smarkets has also promoted Joe Foulds to the newly created Head of Engineering role, reporting to Chief Technology Officer Hrafn Eiriksson.
“Joe will be working closely with me to ensure we are building a world-class platform and tech stack, and inching ever closer to our goal of fixing betting,” said Eiriksson. “This is a well-deserved promotion for him.”
