The NBA has partnered with FanDuel to bring a new smartphone game to fans inspired by the NBA All-Star 3-Point contest. The Faceoff game is called NBA Swish Showdown and allows users to shoot a virtual basketball on their phone screen, with various actions allowing users to score more points and more opportunities to win a cash prize.
Faceoff is a series of games created by FanDuel that incorporate various sports icons and the opportunity to win real cash through play. Other examples have included Gronk Spike Cornhole, which used the likeness of NFL player Rob Gronkowski and offered gameplay of throwing bean bags through a hole with players winning points for completing different moves and tasks.
Word, strategy and puzzle games are also available through the Faceoff platform.
FanDuel is the Official Sports Betting Partner of the NBA, so Swish Showdown is far from the first collaboration between the two. Just back in October, the two bodies partnered to create an offer allowing FanDuel Sportsbook users a way to receive a complimentary three-month subscription to the NBA League Pass by placing a $5 bet. The offer ran from 19 October - 13 November.
Early players of Swish Showdown have a chance to win a daily cash prize through Daily Shot, where users can win a share of a cash prize for scoring a particular shot.
NBA Swish Showdown is currently available to play. FanDuel is running a launch offer that will give one winner a chance to win a $250 NBA Store Gift Card if they play 5 free or paid games. The offer is running until 26 November.
